Welcome to the home page of the Memphis Area Beekeeper's Association. We are a club of professionals and amateurs interested in beekeeping from the Mid South. We are all ages, some of us are senior citizens while others are teenagers. We are different races, different ages, men and women - the one thing we have in common is that we are interested in bees and beekeeping.
Some of us have many hives and others have none. I do believe that we all love honey though.
We meet once a month to share what we've learned about beekeeping. We invite experts to teach us what we don't know to teach us about beekeeping. Oh yeah, and to eat cookies.
Of course we gather locally produced honey and most of us have a little to sell if you would like local honey. Local honey is rich in the pollen of plants from around our homes. It is said that this honey is the most healthy of all.
We sometimes provide educational programs for groups in the area.
We also often provide assistance in removing bees that have invaded the area of local people. If you have been invaded by bees please look to the left in the menu at the option "Services and Products" then "HELP! I have a SWARM" That will take you to a list of people that can help you.
Every second Monday night at 7:00 pm we meet at the Agricenter, 7777 Walnut Grove Road. It's around back in Concource C. Go on in and go to the banquet room on the left. The public is welcome. You can find driving directions in the News and Events part of the menu.
