Welcome to the homepage of the Memphis Area Beekeepers Association. We are a club of professionals and amateurs interested in beekeeping in and around the Mid South. We are all ages, some of us are senior citizens while others are teenagers. We are different races, different ages, men and women-- the one thing we have in common is that we are interested in bees and beekeeping. Some of us have many hives and others have none. I do believe that we all love honey though.
We meet once a month to share what we've learned about beekeeping. We invite experts to teach us what we don't know about beekeeping. We also eat cookies and have refreshments. Of course we gather locally produced honey and most of us have a little to sell if you would like local honey. Local honey is rich in the pollen of plants from around our homes. It is said that this honey is the most healthy of all.
We sometimes provide educational programs for groups in the area. We also provide assistance in removing bees that have invaded the areas and spaces of local people. If you have been invaded by bees please look at the menu option: Service and Products, then click on "HELP! I Have a SWARM." That will take you to a list of people that can help you. Every second Monday of the month we meet at 7:00pm.
We meet at the Agri-Center, 777 Walnut Grove Road. Its around back in Concourse C. Should you decide to come, park and come inside Concourse C, look for the Banquet Room on the left.
The public is welcome, driving directions are located in the News and Events part of the Menu.
